ArduinoCommander is a sweet new Android app for controlling Arduino with a Bluetooth shield.
From Android Market:
"Control your Arduino board from your Android device via Bluetooth using WYSIWYG interface.
Features:
- discover and connect to Arduino board with Bluetooth shield (like Sparkfun bluetooth modems: http://www.sparkfun.com/search/results?term=bluetooth+modem&wha...)
- display board firmware version, name and Firmata protocol version
- set pin mode (analog/digital input/output, pwm)
- get/set pin values
- read messages from the board (Firmata String Sysex message)
- beautiful WYSIWYG interface with 320x480, 480x800, 480x854, 1024x600 and 1280x800(?) screens support"

This looks like it certainly has potential.. how hard would it be to set this up for tuning I wonder? Lamens terms please:P
Comment by Shannon Morrisey on February 3, 2012 at 6:56pm I assume you mean tuning for an Ardupilot vehicle? Yes, I believe it would be pretty complicated and require modifications. I have yet to experiment with this app, might be easier than i think. I'll let you know.
I imagine some very cool things could be done with this using device root privileges. I've been itching to get into Android ADK and waiting on supporting docs, test code and tools like this to ease me into it.
Comment by Shannon Morrisey on February 3, 2012 at 7:02pm also worth mentioning: in case you haven't seen it, the very cool PhoneDrone board which has yet to receive much development attention around here :(
Comment by Bart on February 3, 2012 at 8:09pm @Grips If you are looking to do PID tuning, copter-gcs will let you do that through bluetooth already. I haven't tested for planes (should work with the widgets, and certainly works using the Mavlink params mode), but it works well for copters. It has a different objective than ArduinoCommander though.

Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The third round was a reliablilty/aerial photography round for both planes and copters, which is now closed. Stay tuned for the next round, beginning soon.32 members
