If you positively, absolutely have to DIY everything, here's a
how-to on building your own electric heli with a CD-ROM motor. It's the first Angelfire site I've seen for about a decade, so be prepared for a jarring '90s flashback on website design ;-) Still, the thing flies and my hat's off to this guy for the guts to scratch-build something so challenging.
