This is what a failed attempt at setting PID's looks like....
Truly Painful to watch....
Comment by eduardo on February 27, 2012 at 2:49am PID configuration or pitch servo reverse ?

Do you take off with Ardupilot switched on?
Comment by Don Brooks on February 27, 2012 at 7:59am yikes. With arduplane I always takeoff in manual when setting up/testing new versions or settings.
Comment by Jason Wise on February 27, 2012 at 11:26am That is painfull! Hahahahaha
Comment by Archangel06 on February 27, 2012 at 11:38am My common habit is to check attitude correction on the ground with the motor off before I launch. For example pitch the aircraft's nose down and the elevator should correct appropriately to bring the airplane back to level. Nose up etc. etc. Then I move the controls and for stabilize mode you should see the same deflections as you normally would expect from a normal rc airplane (why would you not right?)
-Good luck and Preflight Preflight Preflight!

Comment by Archangel06 on February 28, 2012 at 9:48pm Thank you all. I did check on the ground, however my worst fears were confimed today. I misconfigured the mode switch on my turnigy 9x with ER9x Firmware (custom curves used to put the switch within the desired limits for mode setup in MP). So to all the folks out there listening, PreFlight Till you are blue in the face, then take a deep breath and preflight again. Cause santa comes only once a year, and I LOVE my APM2.... 'Nuff said.
