Sold as a multiple rx buddy box, can be wired in a way that the rx is connected to the master input, the computer connected to the slave input, and if the computer looses it, you can switch to manual, overriding almost everything.

ArduPilot Mega does the same... Just "Disconnect" channel 8 and APM does not do anything anymore. Everything is passed from inputs directly to outputs.
This is just another way to do it. But good for people who don't have APM or similar on board.

Except that one is completed, nominally cheaper and has reasonnable connectors, separate battery in, and 7 channels in/out.
