CDR Julie, If this is a gripe, why did you join the Army? I served two tours of duty in Vietnam and survived to tell about it. Regards, TCIII

Hi all, Here are a few things to consider when using Spektrum transmitters with a booster. 1) The DX6i has two power output levels: Europen (~100mw) and USA (~200mw) 2) The DX5e has no adjustable power levels because it is not programmable. The o…

Ric, Haven't tried the compatibility mode yet, but I have not heard good things about the compatibility mode. Regards, TCIII

Are you sure? Was it installed (and run) using compatibility mode? Is this official from C/C? I've been running Win7 for a year now on my laptop (first Beta, then RC and then RTM versions) and been happy. Actually, the driver base is identical to…

Hooks, Is the diversity module a controller like the Oracle controller or is it a receiver that can switch between two antennas? Also where did you get the module? Won't work for me as I am using a 2.4 GHz Spektrum R/C setup and had to go with 5.8…

Received my Maja today from Borjet. Took 3 weeks to go from Germany to North Texas. Not too bad!

Hooks, It appears to be either an RF amp or an RF antenna amplifier judging by the two RF chassis connectors, voltage regulator, and shiny box with RF coax cables. Regards, TCIII

What level of ESD protection is on your workbench?

Hi all,

I have been a System Engineer for over 30 yrs and have gone from tubes to ICs during my time in the Aero Space industry.

Tubes were virtually immune to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and could be handled just about any way we wanted to. But when it comes to ICs, ESD can damage or destroy an IC in an instant.

Many of the boards offered for sale in kits by DIY Drones contain static sensitive parts/components that can be damaged even when attached to their respective circuit boards.

Ther… Continue

UAV support group for North Texas

Hi all,

I live just north of McKinney, Texas and slightly east of the North Central Expressway (US 75).

Is anyone in the McKinney and surrounding (Princeton, Frisco, Melissa, Anna or Sherman) area interested in forming a UAV support group?

FMA Direct Business Model

Hi all,

It took me a while to figure out that I could back order the FMA XY sensor when it was listed as being out of stock instead of waiting until a new production run came in to FMA.

FMA appears to only make enough to fill back orders as the June 1st shipment that I had been waiting for was immediately gone and the XY sensor status had gone back to out of stock with the next delivery being June 26th.

So I decided to place an order for the XY sensor to see if FMA would accept an order for a… Continue

Latest version of Arduino IDE compatible with Ardupilot code?

Hi all,

I know that there were some issues using Arduino IDE ver 15 and it was recommended to use ver 13.

However, I thought that I read somewhere on the ArduPilot Home page that ver 15 had been fixed and would work with the ArduPilot code.

Can anyone tell me which version will work with the ArduPilot code?

Regards,
TCIII
