ArduPilot (in its fly-by-wire mode) does the same thing as the FMA CoPilot, but it's not cheaper and certainly not easier to use. If all you want is stabilization, get the original CoiPilot, which works fine and is a lot cheaper.
I'm also looking to get an FMA Co-Pilot for my FPV Easy Glider with Eagle Tree OSD.
Is there a less expensive alternative from DIY Drones? I noticed they sel XYZ sensors and thourght maybe they had their own solution for less! :-)
Well the 4 channel unit is out of the question simply because you would not have gain for the FMA and on/off for autopilot.
The 6 channel unit from hobbycity looks like it has channel 5 and 6 proportional with knobs, so this would work fine.

It's very hard to integrate outrunners with the EasyStar. I'd go for an inrunner instead. There are load of threads online on how to upgrade EasyStars, including our own. Please start there.

Pradeep,
The FMA Co-Pilot is calibrated by pushing a button on the Co-Pilot to institue a XY sensor calibration in the environment of the RTL point so it does not matter about its location. However, I believe the calibration is not updated like the…
