Make sure you have the right motor and prop combination, try and get the draw below 5 amps and you will be well on the way. Without a viable sense and avoid system and correct qualification, ie a pilots licence there will be no chance for flight ou…

What did I just do (head in hands, gentle sobbing)

I just disqualified one of the coolest UAS projects around from the T3 contest.

For those of you planning to buy from UNAV

Chris might pull this post down fast when he sees it!!

I am getting increasingly angry at the attitude of UNAV towards Ardupilot, most people know I don't use an Ardupilot, I'm not clever enough to put one together, but I like the project.

I will let you guys read and decide.

Anybody able to guess what this is??

I can't tell you exactly where it is, but I can tell you there are only 75 in South Africa and we managed to fly bang over the top of it at first attempt yesterday.

There is a good reason for only posting a low res image as well.

All in all a very exciting use for sUAS in Africa and exactly what we set out to… Continue

Atto in Africa

Had a very pleasant afternoon picnicking and an Atto flight in the Kamberg, take off at 6500' on a hot day.

The flying wing goes a little quicker in the thin air!

Deep joy.

Hey there G - Hope your trip went smooth...
Thanks again for all the flying - and donating your airframe to the cause. Been speaking with Stuart a lot more... He's fast!! Quadro-chopper still is not on the table in front of me- but Ill give you a shout when it is- and post some pictures.

not too many repairs to be done to your craft- just changing the wheels really and thinking about molding a new nose for it..

Again I'll post pictures when anything happens..

Till then, enjoy the sunshine I guess.

Cheers-
Mc Smith

Gary, what's the current state of your "Airframe 1 in FlightGear" project? Let me know if I can help you with the aspects concerning UAV Playground.

Am looking at assisting drug enforcement on the Seychelles. We are busy acquiring a Bank License there and need to assist the Island folk with other infrastructure. They have a huge drug problem evolving and their sea is vast and have 115 islands although we would only need to concentrate on those surrounding Mahe. The yachts are the problem donkeys.
What do you think?

Hi Gary

Looks like you had a good turn out for your RCAP event. I have been toying with the idea of arranging an informal event here in Southern California for autopilot users but worry that Patrick would be lurking in the bushes to report us all to the FAA.

Your new airframe looks good. Any plans to make it available for sale?

thanks for your response Gary. I was starting to think I was all alone out here. Please send me an email on rossbw@eastcoast.co.za with details of your system. you can check out our website www.agricane.com for more details about the work we do. We opperate on large estates for the likes of Tongaat huletts and illovo. 12 000 ha is a fairly normal size that we will have to cover in a week to 10 days, so we need a system that can handle a lot of work. Look forward to hearing from you.
kind regards
Ross
