I have the v 1.0 of the shield and am not worried about it. if i want the upgrade its only like $18 so i will just get it when a imu is ready. (hoping someone ports the imu to replace the thermophiles in ardupilot)
the current ardustation does not fit on my screen. so i am working to develop one that fits on m screen. would be cool to get mapping built into it at the same time.

even if your broke. get a usb flight controller from ebay, 6 channel one. and learn on FMS, its a free flight sim. the pros use simulators to practice. and anyone who ever flies should have one. I started on FMS and highly recommend it.

Yes Thomas, that is my thoughts. the OSD to be properly integrated would simply piggyback on the ardupilot and get ALL the relevent information from it. else its a stand alone unit.
I was afraid of that. I dont think the XYZ sensors will work where i live. too many mountains. guess i need to wait till ardumega, and find a use for my current ardupilot board.
