Dropped frames in Photogrammetry

Started by Mark Fink. Last reply by Mark Fink 17 hours ago. 4 Replies

I've been doing more testing lately, specifically for an issue I've noticed with the camera not firing consistently in photogrammetry mode with my Inspire 1 Pro and 25mm lens. I created a simple route with one leg up and back, then ran that in the simulator using different flight speeds.According to the calculations, this particular route would require 122 images, using the auto by distance option. I'm shooting in Shutter priority and using a fixed shutter speed of 1/1250. The Calc. Photo…Continue

Picture Overlap Percentage vs. Picture by Distance or Time interval

Started by Jay Lewis. Last reply by Alexey Dobrovolskiy on Thursday. 6 Replies

I am new to UgCS. I have a couple DJI rigs. Inspire 1 with Z3 camera and Matrice 600 RTK with the X5 camera.I would like to know if you can set the camera to take pictures with overlap percentages vs. picture taken at time interval or distance interval.  DroneDeploy, 3Dsurvey and others need overlapping pictures to create maps and 3D models. They require Frontlap and Sidelap percentages like 75% Sidelap or 70% Frontlap of images.I am thinking of using 3Dsurvey but they do not have flight…Continue

Overlap Consistency Issues

Started by Nathan Harpster. Last reply by Artūrs on Wednesday. 5 Replies

These are the results of a flight I attempted using UgCS in an attempt to get more familiar with the software. The flight parameters were set to 85 front and side overlap with an altitude of 103 ft. The camera trigger function was set to Auto by distance and action on forward passes only. As you can see the consistency leaves much to be desired.…Continue

Circle tool

Started by Luis Gil. Last reply by Anton Senkovskiy on Tuesday. 3 Replies

Hi all.I've been using UgCS circle tool with action execution at every point. It works pretty fine, but I have a great waypoint limitation (DJI A2 controller). So I want to try something different: fly a circle at low speed and let the camera shoot by time repeatedly.Só the question is: if I set action execution at start and select camera by time (say 2 sec. for example), will it shoot all the circle or do I have to set the total number of shoots? Thanks.   Luis.Continue

Exposure Defaults

Started by Mark Fink. Last reply by Artūrs Mar 17. 1 Reply

I'm testing the new Android app, and the exposure controls are working nicely. In the past, I wasn't able to get the exposure compensation to be anything other than -2. Thanks for the update! If I could add a request, though. When I make changes to the exposure, it would be nice to have those remain in effect, even after quitting and restarting the app. For example, I'm noticing that the ISO always reverts to 400, and the EV reverts to -2. As I said, I can at least change these, but if I'm doing…Continue

UgCS for DJI app

Started by Adam Kelly. Last reply by Andy Smart Mar 13. 12 Replies

I went and got an android tablet specifically to run the UgCS for DJI app since I am a mac user and run an ipad for everything else with my drones (and realised too late I needed a tablet app to use UgCS, my own fault). Now I try to download the app from the google play store but get "incompatible with your device: no carrier" error. Why would I need a carrier to run the app since it connects to the macbook wifi, not through a celllphone network? I really want to like and use UgCS but honestly…Continue

is possible read mission file from UgCS to MissionPlanner, in both directions.

I have the same problem.  My "Overshoot" field is also set to 0.

If you reduce overlap you also reduce the quality of the results.Pix 4D recommends 70% overlap (as does most other photogrammetry software).

Please explain how to correct this and have the UAV follow the outline of the area.

Adam Kelly, you got to make lower Forward overlap to get not so big overshoots.

Hi - I'm new to ugcs. I'm planning a mission and I keep getting big overshoots using the photogrammetry tool. I've attached a screen shot. Anyone know why this is happening? I have tried changing pretty much all the variables one at a time, nothing changes these overshoots. It suck up a lot of flight time to travel this extra distance.
